Sweater in the Swelter

The holiday season is rolling in, and I'm making a conscious effort to bring out winter elements to my wardrobe.  However, the weather here in Hawaii has been conflicting with wanting to wear warmer clothing, since it has been fluctuating between rainy, windy, and humid days.  Regardless of the weather issues, I paired an outfit around a slouchy knit sweater that I wore while out running errands this week.  Below are some shots of my outfit as a whole, along with some detail shots of accessories I wore along with it.  All photos were taken by Ericka Nicole Bueno (Mixe Medium).  =]

Oatmeal silk knit sweater by Ralph Lauren, black denim skinny jeans by Levi's, black leather ankle boots by Bruno Magli, black lambskin Rocco mini duffel with black nickel hardware by Alexander Wang.  Accessory details in other photos below.

Event: Honolulu Night Market (November 17, 2012)

It was kind of a last minute decision while out this weekend to attend the Honolulu Night Market in Kaka'ako, but it was definitely a pleasant experience.  This was my first time attending this event, as there had been one held previous to this one, so I didn't really hold many expectations as to what it would encompass.  All I really knew before going was that there were going to be vendors (food, clothing, etc.) and there was going to be a fashion show, but that was convincing enough to attend...and it was convenient to get to since my friends and I were already doing something in the area.  Nonetheless, it turned out to be a really nice night out in a block party type atmosphere, with lots of food options, artists, designers, and others showcasing their work in the community.  I was very enticed by the pieces shown in the fashion show styled by Geremy Campos, and two of my favorite looks can be seen (mirrored) in the pictures below.  I also ran into more fabulous people that night, like Lindsey of Pineapple Ice, and Ariyaphon Southiphong a.k.a. Andy South, both of which I snapped photos with that can also be seen below.  All photos were shot by Zeric Villanueva with the exception of the fashion show shots.  =]

Black & Gold Bliss

Went out and about galavanting through town with the bestie, and I really wanted to make use of my vintage Moschino belt, so I did.  Being someone who isn't particularly fond of incorporating gold in my wardrobe, it was a bit of a challenge putting together an outfit around this accessory.  For this look, I attempted to make it seasonally appropriate by adding a blazer to make it somewhat layered, although still paired it with shorts since it is still a warm fall here in Hawaii.  Below are a couple of outfit shots, along with accessory shots with details of all the pieces worn included in the captions.  All photos taken by Ericka Nicole Bueno (Mixe Medium).  =]

White v-neck cotton tee by Ralph Lauren, black shorts by Banana Republic, black casual cotton blazer by Armani Exchange, black suede boots by Jeffrey Campbell, black lambskin Rocco Mini Duffel with black nickel hardware by Alexander Wang.  Accessory details in other photos below.

Oversized faux black gem ring from Macy's, pale gold arrowhead ring from Cookies, black gem bullet necklace from Brandy Melville.

Vintage Moschino black patent leather belt with gold letters.

Pale gold skull bracelet from Brandy Melville, pale gold geometric angled bracelet from Macy's, vintage Perry Ellis Portfolio watch (gold hardware with embossed black patent leather band), Hermes inspired Kelly wrap bracelet (black leather with gold hardware) from iKandy, matte black pyramid spike beaded bracelet from Brandy Melville.

Pink Pony Pride

Halloween marked the end of October, which meant the end of breast cancer awareness month.  Since I've been an avid shopper at Ralph Lauren for numerous years, I make it a point to use the Pink Pony items I've purchased over the years in support of cancer research.  Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony foundation produces a variety of products from bags and accessories, to a range of clothing pieces and specialty items that are sold as limited edition pieces to provide support for the foundation.  As Ralph Lauren says, "Breast cancer is not just a woman's issue - it affects all of us: the brothers, husbands, fathers, children, friends.  Pink Pony is our effort in the fight against cancer."  Although the various hues of pink may not be some of the "go to" colors of my wardrobe, any way I can show support is well worth making the exception.  Below are a couple Pink Pony pieces I've worn through breast cancer awareness month to show my support in the fight against cancer.  =]
